“Not Another Self-Care Workshop”
Self-care has to be realistic, flexible, and accessible to truly support your wellness. Also, when your clinical working environment is emotional and demanding, there is only so much one individual can do to cope.
I maintain a commitment to advocacy & creating long-term changes in the mental healthcare field so that conditions can be more sustainable for workers, and the quality and accessibility of care can improve for the community and sharing what I’ve learned about this process so far.
Clinicians are often givers. It’s easier for us to pour into others more so than ourselves. We can power through tough circumstances, hold space for other’s pain, handle a crisis, but slowing down? Maybe not so comfortable. This workshop will offer you time and space to reflect on your current ways of coping, recognizing burnout and the realities of working in the mental health field, tips and tricks for managing high stress workplaces and clinically complex clients, and a personal wellness assessment (including coloring or painting a personal “wellness wheel”).
For any community mental health agency accepting both Medicaid and Medicare insurances. Provided in a group format, max 30 participants. For pre-licensed or licensed counselors, social workers, LMFTs, psychologists.
